How do I get a quote?
What does it cover?
General Liability covers property damage and
bodily injury losses caused to others as a result of your work. It does not
provide coverage for poor workmanship. Roofers should pay special attention to
the water damage endorsements, deductibles, policy forms and any special
limitations. Some policies exclude damage to "Open roofs" or limit the coverage
provided to roofing work in progress. That means no coverage while you are
roofing. That is a very dangerous risk to not insure. The extra cost is small
compared to the risk, unfortunately some roofers do not even know they lack the
coverage. There are many things to consider when looking for liability
insurance. Get a comparison quote online now -

Who requires it?
Builders and
contractors require General Liability coverage to work on their jobs. Florida Counties also
require proof of coverage in order to issue permits. We often have homeowners
call us to verify liability coverage. We welcome those calls, so licensed and insured
Florida contractors can get the work they deserve. And Florida business
and homeowners can get the protection they need in case there is a problem with
the contractor, a problem that insurance could have solved. New businesses can
usually get a competitive rate by providing a resume that shows field
experience.

How is the premium calculated?
There are two
common ways insurance companies calculate your premium - Sales or Payroll based.
With sales based, regardless of your payroll the carrier bases its price per
1,000 of your gross annual sales. Payroll based policies may ask for your sales
figures, but are rated on the payroll you report. Which is better? It
depends on your profit margins, most times there is little difference. It is
however important to make sure these figures are as accurate as possible. Almost
all policies are audited. Additional premiums may be due if you under estimate.
We like to touch base with our roofers and make sure projections are in line. It
can be frustrating, if it not explained to you properly. Most roofers we speak
with have never been given details as to how the process works, until of course
it is to late and they have a large bill in hand. We can help you avoid audits,
buy clearly letting you know how your policy is based. We are here year round to
discuss your policy and where you may stand for the policy year. If you
ever question where you stand please call our office, we will be glad to discuss
your rates and audit information.
